  • Vito E-CELL wins design award during the Michelin "Challenge Bibendum", one of the world's largest forums for sustainable mobility

  • Panel of top-class experts recognises the Vito E-CELL

The "Challenge Bibendum 2011" took place on the site of the former Berlin-Tempelhof airport between 18 and 22 May. Participation in this internationally recognised event, facilitated by organisers Michelin, provides the major players in the motor industry with a platform for discussion with international decision-makers from the worlds of politics and business. The objective is to engender a better understanding of the latest technological developments and new ideas for and around the motor car.

One key feature of the Challenge Bibendum is a design contest, the prime purpose of which is to reward creative engineering achievements that improve our quality of life and spare the environment. The jury's assessment is made according to the following criteria: practicability and efficiency of the new technologies in providing solutions to environmental and safety problems, the way they are integrated into the overall vehicle design, emotional appeal and exterior appearance. The Mercedes-Benz Vito E-CELL was presented with the design award in the category "delivery trucks".
