Mercedes-Benz presenta la prossima versione di DRIVE PILOT per la guida automatizzata condizionata (SAE-Level 3)2 in Germania. Questo aggiornamento evolutivo è ora in grado di seguire un veicolo in autostrada a una velocità fino a 95 km/h, il che rappresenta un vantaggio significativamente maggiore per i clienti. DRIVE PILOT sarà quindi il sistema di livello 3 predisposto per il livello di velocità più elevato al mondo in un veicolo di serie.

L’impiego del DRIVE PILOT ad una velocità più elevata offre ai clienti un numero significativamente maggiore di casi d'uso: DRIVE PILOT può essere utilizzato in condizioni di traffico scorrevole sulla corsia di destra di un'autostrada, mentre segue un veicolo che precede. Rimarrà l'opzione già disponibile di utilizzare il sistema in condizioni di traffico intenso e in caso di ingorghi su autostrade adeguate. Durante la guida condizionata automatizzata, il compito di guida può essere affidato al sistema, consentendo ai clienti di utilizzare il proprio tempo in modo più efficiente. Possono scegliere di dedicarsi ad alcune attività secondarie come lavorare, navigare in Internet, guardare la TV o persino un film in streaming tramite servizi come RIDEVU di Sony Pictures Entertainment3. Quest'ultima integrazione al portafoglio di applicazioni Mercedes-Benz è ora disponibile per i clienti di alcuni modelli in mercati selezionati.
